After being in a coma for 5 weeks my body had significantly atrophied.  I was no longer able to walk, wash myself, eat, and other things alone. The doctors told my wife she would need to make our home wheel chair accessible because they did not think I would walk out of there.  When I tried to walk it was only for small amounts of time.

After being released from the hospital, I was sent to an inpatient recovery center mainly used for victims of stroke.  I had to prove I could walk upstairs and wash myself to be released. The doctors anticipated I would be there 10 days , I was out in 3.

When I was released from transitional care, my resting heart rate was 93.

For 6 months I was not supposed to be home alone due to fear I would inadvertently hurt myself while moving around the house.  In order for me to get upstairs I would have had to crawl up them.

My wife began teaching me how to walk before she would go to work.  We would literally walk from one driveway on the street to the other.  Bit by bit. After a few months I started to try to jog, again driveway to driveway on the street.  My wife also got me into a gym.

Since that time I have lost approximately 90 pounds, have a resting heart rate of 65, great blood pressure, and maintain a healthy diet.

It has taken me approximately 2 and a half years to get to where I am physically now.

Through this 24hrs at a time, 1 workout at a time mentality, YOU can get started feeling better.  YOU will start setting goals and working towards them.

A person doesn’t become who they are by only doing the hard things when people are watching.  YOU become the best version of YOURSELF when YOU make the hard decision when YOU are alone.

Do YOU need/ want to be more active?

Do YOU have a reason not to work out?

Did YOU create that reason?

Is it the real reason YOU haven’t started?

Are YOU intimidated?

Everyday PUSH to get better in all areas of your life. Working hard in the present starts changing your view of the future as you let go of your past.
